Privacy Policy
This policy covers Tally Delta — the Excel add-in, the account/checkout pages at tallydelta.com, and the backend services that support them. Tally Delta is built and operated by Valovian LLC (“Valovian,” “we,” “us”).
The short version: the actual contents of your spreadsheets never leave your computer. Tally Delta compares the data you select entirely inside Excel, on your own machine. We never upload it, store it, or see it. What we do collect is limited to what's needed to run your account: your email, a random installation ID (not a hardware fingerprint), and your subscription status.
1. Your workbook data
Tally Delta's comparison happens entirely within Excel, using Microsoft's own Office.js APIs, in memory, on your computer. The cell values, ranges, worksheet names, and comparison results you work with are never transmitted to Valovian, to any server we operate, or to any third party. There is no "upload" step anywhere in the product. This is true for every plan and every device.
2. Information we do collect
To provide accounts, subscriptions, and the ability to sign in from more than one computer, we collect the following. Nothing below includes spreadsheet contents.
| What | Why | Where it's stored |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Identifies your account; used to send one-time sign-in codes | Our authentication provider (Supabase) |
| Installation ID | A random identifier Tally Delta generates itself on first use — never a hardware serial number, MAC address, or other device fingerprint — used to enforce the 2-device limit on your subscription | Our database, and locally on your computer |
| Device label | A coarse description only ("Windows PC," "Mac," "Excel on the web") shown on your device list so you can tell installations apart | Our database |
| Subscription status | Plan (monthly/annual), renewal date, and payment status, used to determine whether the add-in unlocks | Our database, synced from Stripe |
3. Payment information
Valovian never receives, transmits, or stores your card number or other payment details. All checkout, billing, and subscription-management pages are hosted directly by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe's own privacy policy governs the payment information you give them: stripe.com/privacy.
4. Who we share data with
We don't sell your data, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers of any kind on tallydelta.com or inside the add-in. We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the service:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Hostinger — web hosting for tallydelta.com and the add-in's own files.
Each acts as a data processor on our behalf, under their own security and privacy commitments. We don't share your information with anyone else, except where required by law.
5. Cookies and local storage
tallydelta.com keeps you signed in using your browser's local storage, not tracking cookies. Inside Excel, the add-in uses OfficeRuntime.storage — a storage area private to the add-in on your computer — to keep you signed in and to remember your installation ID. Nothing here is used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep your account and subscription information for as long as your account exists. If you remove a device, we keep a record that a removal happened (not the device's activity) so we can monitor for unusual account activity over time; the device itself is no longer active or counted against your limit.
7. Your choices
- You can review your active devices and remove any of them directly from within the Tally Delta add-in at any time.
- You can cancel your subscription at any time from your Account page.
- To request a copy of your data, or to request that we delete your account and associated data, email us at support@tallydelta.com. We'll respond and complete verified requests within a reasonable time.
8. Children's privacy
Tally Delta is a business productivity tool and isn't directed at, or knowingly used to collect information from, children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Tally Delta after a change means you accept the updated policy.
