Email support@tallydelta.comInstalling Tally Delta
You've been sent a file called manifest.xml — this is what tells Excel where to find Tally Delta. It doesn't install anything permanent or change your Excel installation; it just adds a button to your ribbon.
Try Method 1 first. Only use Method 2 if Method 1 doesn't work for you.
Method 1 — Upload My Add-in (try this first)
- Open Excel.
- Go to the Insert tab.
- Click Get Add-ins (or My Add-ins — whichever you see).
- Look for a link called Upload My Add-in (sometimes under a "MY ADD-INS" tab, near the top of the window).
- Click it, browse to the
manifest.xmlfile you were sent, select it, and click Upload. - Go to the Home tab — you should now see a Tally Delta button on the ribbon. Click it and the task pane opens on the right.
Method 2 — Shared Folder (only if "Upload My Add-in" isn't available)
Some Excel installations don't have the upload option above. If that's you, use this instead:
- Create a new folder anywhere on your computer, e.g.
C:\TallyDeltaCatalog. - Copy
manifest.xmlinto that folder. - Right-click the folder → Properties → Sharing tab → click Share.... Add yourself (or type "Everyone"), click Add, then Share, then Done. If Windows asks about network discovery, choose the "private network" option, not the public one. Note the network path Windows shows you at the end — it looks like
\\YOUR-COMPUTER-NAME\TallyDeltaCatalog. - In Excel: File → Options → Trust Center → Trust Center Settings… → Trusted Add-in Catalogs (in the left list).
- Paste that network path into the "Catalog Url" box, click "Add catalog," then check the box next to it labeled "Show in Menu." Click OK, then OK again.
- Fully close every Excel window (not just the one you're in), then reopen Excel.
- Insert tab → My Add-ins → you should now see a "SHARED FOLDER" tab. Click it, find Tally Delta, and click it to add it.
- Go to the Home tab → click the Tally Delta button and the task pane opens on the right.
If neither method works, email us a screenshot of whatever you're seeing — the dialog, any error message, or just where you got stuck — and we'll help you troubleshoot.
Frequently asked questions
Does my spreadsheet data get uploaded anywhere?
No. Tally Delta's comparison runs entirely inside Excel, on your own computer. Nothing about your workbook contents is ever sent to our servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How many computers can I use Tally Delta on?
An active subscription can be used on up to 2 computers at a time. If you're at the limit and want to use a new computer, open Tally Delta there and it'll let you remove an existing computer to free up a slot — no need to contact us.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Sign in at tallydelta.com/account and use the "Manage Subscription & Billing" button. You can update your payment method, switch from Monthly to Annual, or cancel from there.
I signed in but Tally Delta says I don't have a subscription.
Make sure you're signing in to the add-in with the same email address you used at checkout. If they match and this still happens, email us at support@tallydelta.com and we'll take a look.
Is Tally Delta available for Mac and Excel on the web?
Tally Delta is built to run on Excel for Windows, Excel for Mac, and Excel on the web. Windows is what we've tested most thoroughly so far; if you run into anything unexpected on Mac or the web, email us at support@tallydelta.com and we'll help right away.
